The Culture Garden situates on the bank of Baiyangdian, covering an area of about 2,000 mu. The subject of the beauty spot contains four cultures, history, tradition, folk-custom and zoology. There are eight sights: Water-bound Palace of Emperor Kangxi, Pei’en Temple, Qianping, Willows in the East Causeway, Lotus in the West of Baiyangdian, water plant garden, Luhuszhai Vacation Village and Memorial of Goose Plume Possecomitatus. The architectures are full of power and grandeur with special style, and they also cover traditional revolutionary culture, long historical culture, elegant zoology culture and simple folk-custom culture. The Culture Garden is a large comprehensive tourism scenery site combining the patriotism education, appreciation of beautiful natural scene, experience of amorous feelings of water-bound village, holiday sightseeing and entertainment and meals into a whole. The six big Chinese characters , written by Wang Guangying—vice-chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, squarely hang above the gate. There are plentiful sightseeing contents in the site, and the blue-sky, clear water, green reed and red lotus form a shining landscape line, and all these infuse a stream of fresh air into Baiyangdian and the superb mystery are set out before tourists making them enter into the nature, aftertaste history and experience culture.
Being restored based on the former Guoli Koxing Palace, the Water-bound Palace of Emperor Kangxi is divided into two yards, Qiansui Hall and Resting Hall for the Emperor resting and managing government affair in the spare time. Pei’en Temple has Tianwang Hall and Daxiong Treasure Hall in which there was a very precious stone plaque with characters of “Pei’en Temple Named by Emperor” written by Emperor Kangxi. Qianping is a kind of archaize game being similar with “Tou Hu”. Willows in the East Causeway and Lotus in the West of Baiyangdian are two of the eight sights of Anxin, reappearing their excellent posture in those years. The 1,500-meter’s water trestle is a marvelous spectacle. The water plant garden makes displaying “one flower and three treasures” (lotus; gordon euryale seed; leather lace; water chestnut) of Baiyangdian as its emphasis. Subject of Luhuazhai Holiday Village is revealing and experiencing folk-custom in Baiyangdian. As an education base of patriotism, Memorial of Goose Plume Possecomitatus reproduces elegant demeanour of the unusual Goose Plume solders.
