       Baiyangdian—4 A national tourism site locates in Anxin county, Hebei province, on the borders of Beijing, Tianjin an Shijiazhuang, each apart from these three places about 150 km covering an area of 366 sq. km. Here is called “west lake in the north” since the ancient time, and now it has the reputation of “pearl of north China”. It is also praised as “south of the Yangtze River in the north” in poems and “a land flowing with milk and honey” in songs, so many emperors came here. Also “Lotus Shallow Lake School”(a school of poem) came into being here, brave Goose Plume (a possecomitatus in Anti-Japanese War) solders combated successfully here, and “Little Solder Zhang Ga” was brought up here.
      With a total area of 366 sq.km, Baiyangdian enjoys a large water area which is divided into 143 shallow lake berths with different sizes and shapes by 39 villages, 3,700 channels and 120,000 mu reed.
      Baiyangdian enjoys comfort climate, extreme beautiful landscape through four seasons. When spring comes, sprouts of reeds come out one after another and the whole shallow lake is green like jade; in every summer, reeds are green and lotus are red, and willows along the bank sway slightly; in autumn, flowers of reeds fly like snowing and there is rice fragrant in the air; in winter, the lake surface is as hard as a boundless jade.
      Baiyangdian is a typical northern wetland, and it is famous for its rich products from of old. It is the kingdom of birds, paradise of fish, museum of many sorts of water plants with advantaged tourism resource. Baiyangdian tourism site is divided into six large areas, namely mandarin duck island folk-custom culture area, lotus area, zoology visiting area, entertainment area, wharf sightseeing area and folk-custom village touring area. Every area has its own characters and together they include eating, living, traveling, shopping and entertaining making all customers travel happily, enjoy great fun, eat pleasantly, and live comfortably and warmly.
