Tea Texture Preserved Egg is also called pidan, and is one of the well-known and special products in Baiyangdian. The source of eggs comes from eggs laid by loosely bred ducks, and the egg is made by a prescription combining traditional technique and new scientific methods.   Salted Duck Egg  
The old salted egg with red yolk is also called salted Chinese white olive with eggs coming from those laid by loosely bred ducks. The best salted time is from the beginning of March to Nov. every year. There are quite a lot of fingerlings, shrimps and float grass in the lake during this period of time, so ducks will lay eggs with red yolk after eating living food. The characters
