	Baiyangdian is an old revolutionary region. The first communist An Zhicheng joined the Party in 1922 attending the revolution with Deng Zhongxia in Baoding. And the second one joined in 1923 with Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao in Tianjin. At the same time both of them had come back to their hometown spreading Maxism and pushing the development in the local. CCP organization was established in Anxin in 1927, and the Red Revolution swept the whole county. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Red Government and the Anti-Japanese organization were established here. There were a complete set of organizations, from county group to guerillas and also other kinds of Anti-Japanese organs. Anxin people perseverantly fighted against the enemies and created outstanding achievements startling the universe and moving the gods no matter on land or water. Goose Plume Possecomitatus was the most outstanding one in the War. Baiyangdian connects Tianjin in the east and opens onto Baoding from the west, and it had been the golden transportation line in north China playing the most important part in the development of politics, economy and culture in north China. Japanese imperialism dominated this line and turned it into a aggression line after occupying the region. They set up many watchtowers along the line and their steamboats went on the rampage in this region. So for the purpose of attacking the aggressive cruelty of Japanese imperialism, dominating this course and cooperating with the Middle of Hebei province in the war of resistance, the county government sent Xu Jian, secretary of District Party committee and Li Gangyi, Warden of District here to establish the Anti-Japanese organization—Goose Plume Possecomitatus. Goose Plume Possecomitatus made the 3,700 channels as their battlefield, Yingpaizi—a tool used to catch wild ducks—as their vehicles, long lumpish roer as their weapons, utilizing, and 366 sq.km’s reed marshes as their protective screen, thus a water guerilla was set up and the vigorous Anti-Japanese War began. From the very beginning, Goose Plume Possecomitatus had never been defeated, so they became a group of super solders moving about on Baiyangdian. They bravely wrested guns from enemies with hands free, held up enemies’ steam by surprise, tactfully broke down their watchtowers without using weapons. They have created many outstanding achievements for countless times —defeating the enemy when they were outnumbered and weaker. Their sagacity, bravery and agility made Japanese devils become terror-stricken at the news, and the Japanese military officers bewailed, “We have never seen such weapons and armies from the three provinces in northeast China to Lugou Bridge, they are too fearful.” The water guerilla was called super Goose Plume Possecomitatus, and they have ever been praised by Chairman Mao. They have been commended by the higher-up military regions for many times, and have been received by some old revolutionists, such as Zhu De, Nei Rongzhen, Lv Zhengcao, Yang Chengwu, and etc. They successfully created a pattern of water guerrilla. Commander-in-chief Zhu De, Marshal Nei Rongzhen, General Yang Chengwu and Lv Zhengcao have also worked and lived here. Up to now, there are many moving stories circulating popular among people about their attacking Japanese enemies and loving people. There are too numerous battle sites, revolutionary cultural relics and heroic stories in Baiyangdian, Anxin after the War, so there is rich source of Red Revolution. Our army and people’s heroism and Japanese enemy’s cruelty were vividly recorded in the following places—Martyr Tower in Anzhou, Temple of Datianzhuang Village, site of packing and carrying vessel, Martyr Ancestral Temple of Xin Putian, Martyr Ancestral Temple of Quantou, Site of Duancun Village Massacre and Museum of Goose Plume Possecomitatus, and these are of great worth in patriotism education.
